Paweł and Maciej are the initiators of the Road to Ukraine project, in which they specialize in the continuous delivery process between Europe and Ukraine. Therefore, we decided to ask them a few questions that could give our customers an idea of what services and what type of transport the company provides between Poland-Ukraine, Ukraine-Poland.
How do you transport goods to and from Ukraine?
Paweł: We have a wide range of transport services, including road transport by standard semi-trailers, tankers, containers or temperature-controlled. In addition, we offer round-trip rail shipments. We focus on road and rail transport, as air connections between Poland and Ukraine are impossible due to the closed airspace over Ukraine.
What is the current delivery time from Ukraine to Poland and from Poland to Ukraine?
Paweł: The delivery time depends on the work at the border. We assume that the transit time from Gdansk to Kyiv is about 4-5 business days. This time includes restrictions related to drivers' work and customs and tax procedures.
What advantages does your offer have for the customer?
Maciej: We are an experienced company that provides transport services outside the European Union, which entails extensive knowledge of all legal regulations, including those necessary outside the EU. We provide full substantive support related to the need to fill out the necessary documents, as well as transport monitoring and support in solving logistical problems.
Paweł: In addition, if there is a need, we consult with the veterinary or customs office on issues related to transport.
To whom do you dedicate these services, and what industries do you already serve?
Paweł: Our offer is addressed to all business clients who need transport between Poland and Ukraine, regardless of the industry. First of all, we dedicate it to companies that have a constant demand for transport on the route Ukraine-Europe and Europe-Ukraine. In addition, our services are also intended for companies that want to start cooperation with business partners from Ukraine. We make it possible to start a business for those who are not familiar with the subject, but would like to become a business partner for companies in Ukraine, through the possibility of consultation and the provision of services related to the completion of documents.
Maciej: We also dedicate services to Ukrainian clients transporting grains and construction materials, due to the fact that we have the know-how in handling bulk volumes. We handle the transport of goods such as concrete sand, zirconium and sunflower products.
What industries will need your services in the coming months, and for whom are you already creating a dedicated offer?
Paweł: In the coming months, we anticipate an increase in demand for the transport of agricultural commodities, construction materials, industrial raw materials, as well as products from the automotive and window and glass industries.
What do you transport?
Maciej: We transport goods of various types - from construction materials and agricultural products to industrial raw materials. We also specialize in transporting goods that are difficult to transport, such as ADR dangerous goods, goods under veterinary supervision, and goods that require temperature-controlled transport.
Paweł: We want to adapt to the needs of Ukraine. In addition to transporting commercial goods, we also help deliver humanitarian aid, construction raw materials and heavy equipment on platforms. We are able to meet these challenges and fulfill them regularly.
What benefits does Road to Ukraine offer its customers?
Maciej: By working with us, our clients gain access to transport outside the European Union and full support in documentation issues. In addition, we offer a high level of responsiveness - transport quotes are sent in real time, which consequently allows for faster execution.
Paweł: We also have a lot of knowledge and experience in transporting goods to Ukraine, which allows us to more easily handle all the paperwork related to transport.
Maciej: What's more, our company is IFS and GMP+ certified, confirming our commitment to the highest quality and safety of our services. IFS certification signifies compliance with food quality and safety standards, while GMP+ certification is awarded to companies that meet feed safety requirements. These certifications allow us to monitor transport compliance with food regulations, use resources more efficiently and expand the range of goods transported.
Your successes?
Maciej: Transport service of rutile sand and zirconium, which arrive in Poland and are then transshipped to Spain and Italy. We carry out 100 such transports per month, this shows that we are an effective and proven logistics solutions provider.
Paweł: In addition to our business activities, we are also involved in humanitarian aid. An example of our activity in this area is the transport of humanitarian aid to a children's hospital in Kyiv during difficult times for Ukraine. Our company is actively involved in humanitarian aid, where speed and relevant experience count.
Road to Ukraine: what is your goal as a department?
Maciej: Our goal is to acquire customers who have large volumes of goods and need transport between Poland and Ukraine, and then maintain long-term relationships with them.
Paweł: I remember when the war broke out and the Ukrainian economy slowed down. Maintaining the supply chain, especially in such a situation, is crucial for the safety and health of people. What's worth noting is that we have been shipping to Ukraine for several years, so we were able to meet our customers' expectations and continue deliveries last year and this year. Such experience makes us a worthy business partner for many Polish and foreign companies. Our advantage is time - we are able to pick up the goods within 24-48h, which is very important for customers who start business talks with us.
Where will it be possible to meet you this year, i.e. what fairs or conferences are you going to?
Maciej: The list of events we plan to attend includes: - Transport Logistic Germany / Munich: May 9-12, 2023 - Polish Intermodal Poland / Malaszewicze: June 13-15, 2023 - Intermodal Europe Netherlands / Amsterdam: October 10-12, 2023 - TransLogistica Poland / Warsaw: November 7-9, 2023
